Forgotten Spaces in Logan Heights Transformed Into Community-Driven Arts & Cultural Hubs
We led the development of the Logan Heights Arts District, transforming a stretch of underutilized warehouses from 19th to 32nd Street into vibrant, community-driven creative spaces.
Through a strategic mix of physical redevelopment, cultural programming, and community partnerships — including music, food, farmers markets, galleries, boutique retail, and outdoor events — we reenergized the neighborhood and helped establish a new cultural heartbeat for the area. The project attracted new visitors and businesses, amplified local voices, and fueled economic growth in a community ready to thrive.

A Bold New Arts Initiative Sparks Major Growth in District
We designed, launched, and secured funding for a transformative Artist-in-Residence program at the heart of San Diego’s emerging arts district. The initiative brought together local artists to create site-specific works, activate underutilized spaces, and foster deeper community connection.
In partnership with city leaders, we secured major funding from the Prebys Foundation, The California Endowment, and the City of San Diego. The program served as a catalyst for cultural growth, economic activation, and long-term investment in the creative fabric of the district.

Uniting Government, Business, and Nonprofits for Sustainable Impact
In collaboration with the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), Martha led cross-sector engagement efforts to scale California’s for-benefit economy — an emerging “fourth sector” blending business success with social impact.
She played a central role in forging strategic partnerships and organizing high-level convenings at institutions like UC San Diego, Salesforce, the World Economic Forum, and the Rady School of Management. These gatherings brought together leaders from government, industry, and the nonprofit sector to align on shared goals, influence policy, and drive investment in sustainable, purpose-driven growth.
Her work positioned the initiative as a statewide catalyst for economic transformation — strengthening California’s leadership in social innovation and redefining how sectors collaborate for lasting impact.

Building a Global Movement for Sustainable Economic Development
As Co-Founder and Senior Advisor of The Fourth Sector Group (4SG), Martha Martin helped lead a global effort to grow a new kind of economy — one that blends the best of business, government, and nonprofits to create purpose-driven, sustainable impact.
4SG supports the rise of “for-benefit” enterprises: businesses that focus on doing good while doing well. Martha worked closely with partners like the United Nations, World Economic Forum, and Fortune 500 companies to drive strategy, policy, and investment that support this growing sector.
She also led the creative direction for 4SG — building the brand, designing key materials, and shaping the storytelling behind its global initiatives. By combining clear strategy with strong design, she helped position 4SG as a trusted leader in building a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

Empowering At-Risk Youth Through Entrepreneurship
In 2022, Chip launched Creators Ignite — a hands-on program that helps underserved and at-risk youth turn creativity into real opportunity through entrepreneurship and career readiness training.
Blending self-discovery with practical business skills, Creators Ignite equips young people with the tools, mindset, and confidence to shape their own future — whether that means launching a business, landing a dream job, or simply finding direction. Instead of sitting in a classroom, students roll up their sleeves, develop real business ideas, test them with local entrepreneurs, and for those ready to take it further, turn their pitch into a live, working business.
The program partners with respected nonprofits, schools, and universities to deliver high-impact experiences that meet students where they are — and help them imagine where they could go. At its core, Creators Ignite is about unlocking potential, building a resilient workforce, and using creativity as a catalyst for self-empowerment.

An old Navy contractor building converted into central San Diego’s largest production space. Mosaic led the strategy, brand development, and execution of the project, overseeing the conversion of the site into 7,500 square feet of flexible studio space and 5,000 square feet of creative suites. Reimagining a San Francisco Icon for Its Next Chapter
The Palace of Fine Arts — one of San Francisco’s most beloved landmarks — was at a crossroads: how to preserve its historic grandeur while transforming it into a vibrant, community-driven destination for the future.
Working alongside a world-class team including Clark Construction, Gibbs Planning Group, EHDD, PFAL, and NPU, Chip helped lead the strategic visioning and RFP process. He helped drive concept development and planning efforts, while leading stakeholder engagement to ensure the proposal aligned with civic priorities and community aspirations.
We delivered a bold redevelopment plan that reimagined how the city could breathe new life into the site — honoring its architectural legacy while creating new opportunities for cultural activation, public gathering, and long-term economic vitality. The result: a visionary roadmap to transform the Palace into a dynamic civic asset for generations to come.

Driving Global Impact Through Sustainable Corporate Procurement
Martha Martin played a lead role in launching the Buy For-Benefit (B4B) Alliance — a global effort to shift corporate procurement toward more sustainable and inclusive business practices.
She helped design the concept, structure, and theory of change behind the alliance, and led strategic engagement with Fortune 500 companies to align their purchasing decisions with social and environmental impact goals. By leveraging the power of corporate supply chains, B4B aimed to accelerate the growth of purpose-driven enterprises worldwide.
Her work led to the official launch of B4B at the 2019 World Economic Forum in Davos, in partnership with organizations like Philips, SYSTEMIQ, CARE, the International Chamber of Commerce, and the UK’s DFID. Through high-level convenings and global partnerships, Martha helped position B4B as a bold new force for systemic change in global commerce.

Modernizing Defense Operations Through Design & Efficiency
While supporting the Department of Defense at NAVAIR Coronado, Martha Martin led critical initiatives that improved operational efficiency, modernized standards, and delivered major cost savings.
She built and directed the organization’s first multimedia department, creating new visual standards that transformed how complex aircraft technical drawings were produced and shared. As Logistics Manager for the C-2 Service Life Extension Program (SLEP), she redesigned procurement and tracking systems — ultimately saving the program over $10 million.
Martha also supported early ISO certification efforts, helping elevate quality and accountability across the organization. Her work combined creative problem-solving, design innovation, and logistics strategy to deliver real, measurable impact in a high-stakes environment.
